Re: partners in the UK

Thanks Graham and no worries about the delay. It took me a while to see your message, too! I've just arrived in New Zealand (with packraft) and will be having a go at some of the easier rivers here over the next few months. There are some crackers here but a bit too high a grade for me at the moment...

We should definitely meet up and do some rafting although I'm off to NZ/Oz in a few weeks' and won't be back until June. Re: Iceland Video

Great video and an epic trip, Alastair. Keep'em coming! That's another place I've got to add to the 'must visit' list now. :)
All the best,
Mark

Re: Packrafting in the UK – Clothing

Thumbs-up from me for the Tempest pants, too. Especially with the 25% discount that Knoydart were doing about a year ago on Kokatat clothing. I've been using a pair with the Tempest top in the UK and like them. Fairly lightweight and insulate well in cold water. As you say, great for wading out. I'v...

Re: Where It All Began...

Fascinating stuff, especially about the Halkett boat. The wiki page says the only surviving one is the one used by John Rae, an Arctic/Canada explorer and is in the museum in Stromness, Orkney. I saw his grave/monument in the cathedral in Kirkwall last year but gave the museum a miss as it cost a fe...
